I bought my 91 1500 last fall and rode about 200 mi and it worked great. I took it out today and my reverse does not work, it trys but will only move a couple of inches each time I push the the starter button. Also the bike quit about 5 times. Just like shuting off the key and I had a hard time to make the nuit light come on to re-start the motor. Does any one have any idea where I should start to look for thoes problems?

Do you have a Simpro brake light? I would check where the simpro plugs into the reverse relay. The relay is under the trunk on the left side (when sitting on bike). Pull plug and check for bad connection. Even if you don't have a Simpro check this plug. It is a little hard to get to, may have to remove seat and bottom pan under trunk.

Thanks Doug
I do not have a simpro brake light but with your advive I removed the seat this morning and found a large flat plug inside a large flat case that was unpluged.I plugged it in and my reverse works fine. Now I will go riding and see if it cured my quitting also.
