My friend called me to come help him. He was riding home and the bike just died at highway speed. 1995 1500 with a motor tirke kit. Bike has 20K on the clock. I trailered him in and the engine spins on the starter, just doesnt start. Symptom #1 Cruise light and cruise control stopped working on the day before. Symptom #2 riding at highway speed without warning engine dies. Coasts too a stop.
Reaction #1 turn off key, turn on key starter engages and spins, just doesnt start. Reaction #2 dismount... kick shoes. Reaction #3 call for help. All ideas considered helpful. I read of bank angle sensor problems on 88-93 model years.

Sounds like it is out of gas, or has vapour lock in fuel line. Try checking for fit of gas tank cap, if vent hose kinked, it causes vacuum, so preventing fuel flow.

Check the kill switch on right handel bar. Have seen these where they dont make good contact, harleys most notably, and on my boys 1100.
One way to check is to pull a plug, then see if there is spark, if not that is good place to start as the bike will still turn over will kill switch disengaged.
Sometimes contact cleaner will cure the problem. Used to carry wd40 with me for the flht to cure this prob not only on mine but others as well.
