I think that the 1200's came both ways in 85, both injected and with carbs. I had 2 84 1200's with carbs and a friend of mine has a 85 with carbs, his seems to have a little more low end grunt than mine did. I wouldn' buy an injected 1200, the carbs work just fine and around here nobody knows how to work on the injector system and parts might be a little hard to find. But that is just me, I am not saying that you shouldn't buy one. I know that there are probably many of them running around and they may never need any service on the injection system as long as they are maintained properly, but I am a little paranoid.

The 1985 LE was injected, and the Interstate & Aspencade used carbs. The LE is pretty complicated, and expensive to maintian, but are great when everything is working.

There is going to be one disected and sent on ebay in a week or so if you need any parts. I have a buddy with one and he has 47,000 still on same stator and having good luck but I sure would not want to work on one myself lots of stuff under that plastic. Zeke in snowbound Ks.

I've had a 1985 LTD since 1989. The fancy one with fuel injection and all the other factory toys.
It's been great.
