Have you been to the Amish country? Great food, some great hills. Lots of tourist shops, visit a real Amish farm.

If you are going near or through Wheeling WV. take a ride south on RT. 850 from Moundsville WV. If you like twisties they got 'em! Also, RT. 850 north into OHIO is a very nice ride too. Have fun!

We stayed at the University Motel (Hotel?) in 1990 in Athens, OH. Was a great place to stay.
Visited the Hocking Hills (Natural Caves, walks through the woods but not to long and free). The back roads there (S.E.OH) are great for bikes. Just watch that when you crest a hill the road doesn't suddenly go hard left or right.
Rt 555 is suppose to be very twisty but I missed it. Enjoy

Have you ridden 555 from near Parkersburg WVA up towards Zanesville? GREAT RIDE. Our Chapter did it last year (Indianapolis IN) and we are doing it again next month.

If you are looking for great roads to ride you will have plenty to choose from. Never heard of Rt 850 that Roy mentions, must mean Rt 250. 250 has too much traffic for my taste. All the roads NE of Marietta are great. Some of my favorites are, Rt 26, 260, 255 & 536. These are fun roads that are easy to get a rythm with. 555 has a lot of curves but way to many blind hills.
If you are looking for things to do Hocking Hills just NE of Chillicothe has lots of interesting areas to hike to. From there Rt 550 to Marietta is fast and fun. In Marietta follow the Muskingum River NW and check out the old hand operated locks. The Ohio River Museum and Fenton Glass Works are interesting. Lots of old beautiful homes in Marietta also. In Marietta stay at the Historic Lafayette Hotel. It's reasonable and has a great restaraunt.
Have fun, this is a great area.
