O.K. CSC riders, I need your help! Two weeks ago I was on a four day ride with five other bikes, one being another CSC Sport conversion! My bike did not appear to handle as well as the second bike, especially over road seams and bridges. My bike felt "twitchy" and unstable! At one gas stop another rider noticed that my bike was sitting about 2 inches lower on the rear suspension. The amount of tire visible under the fender edge was obvious! When I first sat on my friends bike, I definitely could feel the extra height his bike had over mine! I was convinced to test ride my friends trike to compare the ride quality of the two bikes! There was no comparison in the comfort and the stability of the trikes. Even at interstate speeds of 70 to 75 the second bike was rock solid. There were almost no reactions to pavement irregularities and seams! The 85 miles I rode this other trike were the best of the 1600 miles of my trip!
The help I need is regarding the rear shocks! Both the bike trikes have the Carerra coil over shocks. I have the tool to adjust the top adjusting ring on the coil. My question is about the adjustability of the overall shock length! Do any of you know IF the Carerra shock is adjustable for length? It seems that I would not be able to change the spring length enough to raise the overall ride height the two inches I need to correct my bikes ride! Also is there ANY way to remove the shock without taking the body off as I have been told.
Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated. I REALLY want my bike to handle like the other!!!

You might want to check the air in your rear shock before you start adjusting the other shocks.Im 6`2-235#.I run w\70# of air in the rear shock w\24# in the rear tires.I would try other things before the Garerra shock adjustment.Ride Safe

To raise our rear 2" we would have to remove the right side muffler sence it sits on the axle housing when parked.

That should be sits under (touching) the axle housing.

Ok I need a little more info from you.
1. What is the amount of threads showing outside above or below the adjusting nut. I have mine set at 2". From the 0 setting to the 2" setting it raised my bike at least 2" or more.
2 what is the air shock pressure? I have mine set at 62# without being on the bike.
Hope this helps you

Carl,
Thanks for your response!! The top of my shock has only about 1/2 inch of thread showing above the locking nut! The other day a friend had me try the bike with 65 p.s.i. in the shocks. The test ride was much more comfortable that the way it felt at 40 to 50 p.s.i.! Do you know just how high we can increase the pressure in the shocks before we have to worry about damage to the shock or creating unsafe riding dynamics to the bike?? Also do you think one bike WITHOUT Easy Steer would be more stable in the wind and on Interstates than a bike WITH Easy Steer? I really want to make the ride of my bike as stable as it was SUPPOSED to be setup at conversion. I also have a Super Brace on my bike, which I'm not at all sure helps any!
I would appreciate any suggestions you may have as to what to check next!
Ride safe, Joe
