i want to make a custom seat for a gl1100. does anyone have any good books, articles, info on making fiber glass seat pans.

Several seats on EBAY that start cheap, bad cover etc. I have one with several tears and foam getting soft but has a good pan. Can sell for $12.00 + shipping, email if unterested.

Jim,
Look for a motorcycle magazine called The Horse. It's a chopper magazine and either this month or last month had an article on making your own seat and it dealt with fiberglass. Pretty easy actually.

Jim,
Watched American Thunder on Speedvision the other night. They used masking tape in the area the seat pan sets, then put matting and resin on and smoothed all the air bubbles out,when dried it was trimmed some. Looked good, followed the lines of the bike nicely, looks like it would be easy to do. I don't know about your area, but here they rerun that show quite a bit.
