Hauling a wing and sidecar

Does any body out there in this vast and intelectual board know of a trailer to haul a wing and sidecar? Need to keep it under 12 feet in length. Does it need dual axles? Or will single tow properly.

You might find a moving company or metal recycling company in your area that has a public scale and get the rig weighed instead of guessing.
I would look for a trailer that would haul more weight than what you really will carry. I wouldn't want to push the design limitation of the trailer.

If you can find a dual snowmobile trailer, this will fit your needs and most of them tilt for easy loading and securing the Wing. A typical Wing weighs 850-900Lbs. And sidecars are normally not over 350Lbs. So I would look for one with a 1800 to 2200Lbs. payload.

I do not know how it compares with a Trike. I am sure it is heavier. I have a Trike and haul it all the time. The width and weight are the big questions. I think my single axle trailer is rated for 2000 lbs. That number is off the top of my head but I think I am correct. The rear opening width might be the bigger concern and the weight distribution. I am sure you will have more weight on one side that the other of the trailer.

I have a friend who owns a three rail single axle trailer, and he removed the center rail, and had to shift the right rail about 3" to fit the sidecar tire, but make sure the trailer GVW will accommodate the weight.
